Getting Ready for UKCA
Wolf Safety is committed to continuing to lead on legislative compliance for all Wolf Ex products we sell in the UK and into the EU, now and in the future.
The UKCA (UK Conformity Assessment) mark is the new UK marking scheme for products placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It includes products that have previously required CE marking in compliance with the ATEX Directive. Technical requirements and conformity assessment used for demonstrating compliance for UKCA marking are largely the same as they have been for CE marking to ATEX.
CE marking to the ATEX Directive can continue to be used to sell Ex Products in Great Britain now, but will no longer be accepted from 1 January 2022. From this date any product sold for use in Explosive Atmospheres must carry UKCA marking showing compliance to the UKEx Scheme. However, this does not apply to product already in the supply chain, if you have remaining stock of Wolf product CE marked to ATEX from before 1 January 2022 these items can continue to be offered for sale in Great Britain with a CE mark after 1 January 2022. It’s also important to note that any item of ATEX equipment purchased and in use prior to 1 January 2022 can continue to be used after that date and indefinitely into the future.
All Wolf ATEX products will have UKEx certificates issued and be correctly UKCA marked by 1 January 2022 (limited external marking allowed until Jan 2023), at which time every Wolf Ex product will be tri-rated with UKCA, ATEX and IECEx marking in place.
We are therefore confident that we shall continue to be able to supply our entire product range to our UK customers without any interruptions.
